School Mission: “UEF schools are inquiry-driven learning communities that embrace the uniqueness of all and commit to an International Baccalaureate education.”

UEF schools are authorised to offer the three International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes: PYP, MYP and DP. We offer a challenging and supportive educational environment in which students are active participants in the learning process and teachers are active participants in their own ongoing professional development. We foster critical thinking and inquiry skills through all three programmes. We teach with an international perspective and the curriculum is truly international, i.e. not based on a national education system. Each UEF school is one of the few international schools in the world to offer mother tongue languages in the curriculum for students from 5-18 years. We provide mother tongue lessons in 6 languages in UISG and 5 languages in UISZ. Parents are encouraged to participate fully in the life of the school as partners in the education of their children and the development of the school as a community learning centre.

The IB philosophy permeates the programmes with a fundamental respect for the beliefs and values of other people. Students will develop an understanding of the IB Learner Profile. The ten qualities of the Learner Profile inspire and motivate the work of teachers, students and parents.
